CE marking

CE marking is a declaration by the manufacturer, that the product has been produced according to the harmonised European standards or the European Technical Approval.

These Standards include among others regulations, the description of building materials characteristics proved by the manufacturer by calculations or tests. The testing or calculating must consider the following 6 areas:

• Mechanical resistance and stability
• Health and environment
• Fire safety
• Noise level
• Energy

Even though a produce carries the CE marking national regulations may put restrictions on the use of the product in certain countries.

It is obligatory for all products for sale to be labelled with a CE marking.
